In Jill Tegan Dohertys pictures nature isn’t an oasis of calm for the exhausted townsfolk of the digital age, but the forest as an „alternate kingdom“ has the beautiful and unearthly character of a fairytale forest. Bizarre creatures populate mystical pictorial spaces, the paintings present a world that follows their own rules. It’s a world that is irritating enigmatic and whimsical charming rolled into one.
